DescriptionAs a Network and Security Engineer you will be involved in design, implementation and ongoing support of networking and network security solutions. You will be active in the following domains
- LAN & WAN technology: routing, switching, load-balancing, wireless
- Network Security: firewalling, VPN, SSLVPN
- Network monitoring and management
Your profileYou have several years of experience as a Network Engineer on Cisco (basic requirement), and optionally on one or more of the major networking vendors (Juniper, Checkpoint, ...).
You are an expert in these products, but you also know how these components integrate in a company's IT infrastructure and you have a broad view on IT infrastructure and security.
You have experience with network scanning and sniffing tools and one or more scripting languages (e.g. shell scripts, Python, Perl). Knowledge and experience with *nix and Windows based operating systems is an asset.
Your knowledge is not just gained from books or courses, it has already been applied in the real world. Experience in production environments is very important.
You know that maintenance on production systems can be outside normal working hours, so this is not a 9 to 5 job. You are also familiar with Problem and Change Management processes and tools.
Taking responsibility and initiative, flexibility, eagerness to learn new networking products and systems and a passion for the networking world and beyond are important skills for this job. You are a good team player and able to communicate with your colleagues and customers in Dutch, English and French. You can document your actions and transfer your knowledge to others with ease.
